Three steps to start talking

Room Talk is the fastest way to get on a video call. No friction, no waiting rooms, no accounts.

Create a room

Click Have a Convo and allow camera and microphone access. A unique 5-character room code is generated instantly — no configuration needed.

Share the invite link

Click Copy Link in the room controls bar to copy a direct join URL. Paste it into a message, email, or any app to invite others.

Start talking

Anyone who opens your link is dropped straight into the room. No sign-up required on their end either — just click Allow and you're live together.

How to use To See Us

Everything you need to know to get the most out of your video room.

Creating a room

  1. Click Have a Convo on the app page.
  2. Your browser will ask for camera and microphone permission — click Allow.
  3. Your unique 5-character room code appears in the bottom bar (e.g. W9VWY).
  4. Click Copy Link to copy a shareable invite URL to your clipboard.
  5. Send the link to anyone you want in the call.

Joining a room

  1. Open the invite link someone shared — the room loads automatically.
  2. Or go to the app, type the 5-character code in the Join field, and click Join.
  3. Allow camera and microphone access when your browser prompts you.
  4. You appear in the video grid straight away — no lobby or waiting room.

Audio & video controls

  • Mic — click to mute or unmute your microphone. The button turns red when muted.
  • Cam — click to turn your camera on or off. The button turns red when off.
  • Others see your tile go dark when your camera is disabled.
  • Your own video feed is always muted locally to prevent echo.

Text chat

  • The chat panel appears on the right side of the screen (or below on mobile).
  • Type your message and press Enter or click Send.
  • Messages travel directly peer-to-peer and never touch the server.
  • Chat history is session-only and not stored or logged anywhere.

Sharing & inviting others

  • Click Copy Link in the controls bar at any time to get the invite URL.
  • The link looks like: https://2-c.us/room.html?room=XXXXX
  • Anyone who opens the link joins your room automatically — no code needed.
  • Rooms support up to 6 simultaneous participants.

Leaving a room

  • Click the red Leave button to exit and return to the lobby.
  • Closing the browser tab also signals your departure to others in the room.
  • Rooms expire after 2 hours and are automatically deleted from the server.

Frequently asked questions

Quick answers about privacy, limits, and how it all works.

Yes, completely free. There are no plans, trials, or hidden charges. Room Talk is open to everyone at no cost.
No account is required — not for creating a room, and not for joining one. Just open the app and click Have a Convo.
Up to 6 people can share a room simultaneously. Room Talk uses a full-mesh WebRTC topology — each participant has a direct connection to every other, which keeps audio and video latency as low as possible for small groups.
Yes. All video, audio, and chat data travels directly between participants using WebRTC's built-in DTLS/SRTP encryption. Once a call is established, no media passes through the server — the server only facilitates the initial connection handshake.
Rooms expire automatically after 2 hours of inactivity and are cleaned up from the server. No conversation data, video, audio, or chat history is retained after a room closes.
Room Talk works in any modern browser with WebRTC support: Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Edge, and Apple Safari (iOS & macOS). No extension, plugin, or app installation is needed.
